The oxygen made by oxygen bars is produced from a non-medical device called an Oxygen Concentrator. These devices are based upon a NASA created technology called Pressure Swing Adsorption that essentially filters out the Nitrogen, Argon and other trace gasses from ambient air. After filtering out these other components, the oxygen concentrator produces an oxygen molecule which is approximately 92% pure. This pure oxygen is delivered to the participant through normal breathing by a nasal hose sometimes called a Nasal Cannula. The remaining Nitrogen and other gasses are released back into the atmosphere. An Oxygen Bar includes scents and/or aroma therapy to further enhance the oxygen experience.
